Everything we make is small-batch, made by hand, and built from ingredients that don't need a label to explain what they are. Here's what that actually means in practice.
Every product starts from a short list of ingredients you'd recognize without a chemistry background — coconut oil, bentonite clay, shea butter, real essential oils. No seed oils, no synthetic fragrance, no fillers added just to stretch a batch or extend a shelf life. If an ingredient wouldn't make sense in a kitchen or an apothecary a hundred years ago, it doesn't go in the jar.
Nothing here is mass-produced. Each batch is mixed, poured, and set by hand in small quantities — usually just enough to fill a few dozen containers at a time. That means fresher product, and it means we actually know what's in every single jar that goes out the door, because we made it ourselves, recently.
"Natural" gets used loosely by a lot of brands. For us it means: food-grade or cosmetic-grade ingredients, sourced from suppliers we can name, in their least-processed form. It doesn't mean "as effective as every synthetic alternative in every situation" — our tick repellent, for example, is upfront that it's shorter-acting than DEET. We'd rather tell you the honest tradeoff than oversell it.
Ingredients come from a small set of trusted suppliers — food-grade clays and charcoal, unrefined coconut oil and shea butter, and pure, unblended essential oils. We check for purity over price, and we'd rather pay a bit more for an ingredient we trust than cut corners to hit a lower cost.
Natural doesn't mean risk-free. Essential oils are potent — we recommend a patch test on a small area of skin 24 hours before full use of any new product, especially the tick repellent and muscle rub.
